About the project

Acapella is a restaurant and bar in Boston, and one of Ivory & Bone’s hospitality projects.

The dining room is organized around long banquettes. The bar is framed by arched, backlit shelving that makes the bottles part of the design. A private dining table is wrapped in wood slat walls, and graphic wallpaper defines a second dining area.

We treated the restrooms as a destination. Each has its own wallpaper: one patterned with round mirrors, one botanical, and one in an abstract black and white print.

Hospitality design has to work hard. It needs to photograph well, stand up to daily service and give guests a reason to come back. Acapella shows how we bring the layering and color of our residential work to commercial spaces in Boston and the North Shore.
